Analyst/Associate level Summer/Long Term Internships

In Mergers and Acquisitions, we provide our clients with key advice, tactics, analysis and strategies. Our work in this area is well documented via the broad sheets and financial press and so may be very familiar. As well as M&A, our clients require advice on restructures, Leveraged
Buyouts (LBO), joint ventures, exchange offers and much more.

Headquartered in New York, BNP Paribas in North America, serves a client base of multinational corporate and mid-cap companies, major issuers, institutional buyers and hedge funds.

What you’ll do:

You’ll assist senior professionals in the execution and marketing of cross-border M&A transactions. Working as part of a team, we’ll expect you to participate in the preparation of marketing materials and financial analysis, and in the execution of active M&A mandates. You’ll also need to assist other professionals in completing required assignments.

What you’ll need:

We’re looking for people who are working towards an MBA (probably class of 2009 or December 2008) with an emphasis on accounting, finance and economics. You should have previous internship experience in an area such as investment banking, private equity, consulting or a Big Four accounting firm.

Demonstrated academic excellence is essential and you’ll also bring strong analytical, quantitative, and strategic thinking skills. This role also demands a solid understanding of and experience in basic corporate finance techniques including modelling, financial analysis and valuation methods.

In addition, you’ll need:

• A proven ability to think creatively and grasp key concepts quickly
• To be a highly motivated team player with strong presentation skills
• Experience with various financial databases
• The ability to participate on multiple projects simultaneously
• Exceptional interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills.
