Research Associate

Researchers produce analysis and forecasts relating to market or economic trends. You might join a team which specialises in researching certain industries or regions, or perhaps, join one of the strategy teams which assess wider influences on economies. You could be asked to present this information both internally and to clients. Your research will be used to form the basis of sales and trading strategies.

What you’ll do:

Researchers produce analysis and forecasts relating to market or economic trends. You might join a team which specialises in researching certain industries or regions, or perhaps, join one of the strategy teams which assess wider influences on economies. You could be asked to present this information both internally and to clients. Your research will be used to form the basis of sales and trading strategies.

A Research Analyst will be required to:

  • Analyse market and economic data to produce analysis and forecasts
  • Contribute to internal and external research publications
  • Write analysis and present research to colleagues and clients
  • Maintain financial models and spreadsheets.


What you’ll need:

To work in Research, you’ll need a Bachelor’s or further degree (or equivalent) in Economics, Finance or Maths. Advanced Excel and modelling skills are essential. You should have good skills in statistical analysis, the ability to formulate a persuasive argument and excellent written and spoken English. You’ll also need to be convincing when presenting your research with sound, impartial judgement.
