Trading Associate
Traders are required to calculate risks and identify opportunities in order to formulate trading strategies in liaison with Sales and Research teams. Once their market opens, they must react instantly to market changes throughout the day in order to generate revenue for us and our clients.
As a Trader, your role is to buy and sell securities on behalf of our clients and the bank. Traders work in the fast-paced environment of the trading floor so you must be able to work under pressure and be resilient enough to take mitigated risks. Your decisions will truly count and, when calculating your P&L at the end of each day, you must be able to explain the decisions you致e made and your trading strategies, learning quickly from any mistakes!
What you値l do:
You値l perform quantitative and qualitative analysis of different trading strategies, assisting senior traders with position tracking responsibilities and understanding risks and opportunities in the markets.We値l expect you to create tools that estimate the potential return of trading and risk management positions. You値l need to price, model, structure and book deals as well as developing pricing models for new structures and analysing the underlying valuation models and market risk.
Your role also involves liaising with marketing, sales and strategists to promote trade ideas and developing market opportunities for our clients. In addition, you値l need to analyse, explain and validate the risk and P&L of swaps and bonds portfolios.
What you値l need:
You should be educated to MFE/MS, MBA or PhD level in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Financial Engineering, Statistics or a relevant field. Your technical skills should encompass Excel and C/C++ and you値l also have expertise in one or more of the following areas: probability, stochastic differential equations, numerical methods, econometric modelling and financial maths. A second language is advantageous, especially Japanese, Mandarin and European languages.
