Analyst (UK)
Our Trading Operations teams provide high quality operational support to trading activities – reducing risk to a minimum.
What you’ll do
As an Operations analyst your role will involve daily interaction with clients and the trading floor, and your key role is to ensure swift processing and payments of settlements.
You’ll undertake a number of short-term placements in various teams within Operations, learning about our different roles and contributing significantly to our different teams.
We’ll expect you to assist with various operational activities, including trade support, trade reconciliation and documentation, the analysis and control of Profit & Loss, product control, collateral management and client support. You’ll also participate in one or more projects during your training such as coming up with innovative suggestions to improve efficiency and ensuring the best processes are in place.
As you progress, you’ll need to develop and demonstrate the personal and professional skills needed to in a managerial role within Operations. This will include technical and product knowledge as well as strong problem solving, networking, communication, leadership and team working skills.
What you’ll need
You will have a fresh approach to problem solving and excellent communication skills to deal with client demands and your colleagues on the trading floor. You will be good at relationship building and have analytical skills which will enable you to summarise a problem and come up with a solution.
You’ll certainly have a strong academic record, ideally in risk or investment management, banking and finance, international banking, accountancy, economics, computer science or business administration.
An understanding of banking processes and products would be useful, as would MS Office and Excel skills and some knowledge of systems analysis and design.
Strong English skills are essential and French or a regional language would be an advantage. If you also have banking experiences in operations, accounting or IT, so much the better.
