What you’ll do:

Working with a senior banker, you’ll produce effective pitch books including our understanding of a company, an analysis of its positioning, and a review of opportunities.

You’ll need to collect, manage and monitor our sector/clients/prospects database, producing general industry sector reports along with detailed financial modelling for specific opportunities.
We’ll also expect you to complete client activity reports to gauge progress against objectives and to proactively identify any commercial opportunities.

Additional responsibilities for this role include:

• Working closely with senior bankers to maintain and develop client relationships
• Enhancing our market position and profile
• Monitoring all information sources relating to clients and improving industry awareness
• Assisting senior bankers in promoting broad usage of multiple BNP Paribas products and services.

What you’ll need:

You should be working towards an MBA, MS or MFE (probably class of 2009 or December 2008) with an emphasis in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics or another relevant field. Demonstrated academic excellence is important and you’ll be proficient with spreadsheet modelling.

We’ll also be looking for strong analytical abilities, excellent verbal and written communication skills and a commitment to team work. Previous financial services experience is preferred.


Loan and High Yield Capital Markets

In the Loan and High Yield Capital Markets Group, we originate, structure and execute all syndicated loan and high yield bond issues and provide creative capital structure solutions. This could be through the underwriting of investment and non-investment grade loans, first and second lien loans, mezzanine capital, PIK debt and high yield securities for all client segments throughout North and South America.

What you’ll do:
Your key responsibility will be to provide deal support to the team. You’ll need to participate in the evaluation of Leveraged Buyouts (LBOs), strategic acquisitions, growth financings, recapitalisations, and refinancings. We’ll also expect you to perform industry and capital structure research, credit analysis, forecasting and due diligence for lead arranger/bookrunner, bank and bond underwriting opportunities. This will include reviewing public filings and preparing comparable spreadsheets.

In addition, your role involves:

• Developing financing ideas based on client interaction and industry/company specific considerations
• Preparing credit and investment memorandums in support of transactions
• Developing a strong understanding of credit risk
• Drafting client pitches and marketing materials
• Identifying and developing potential LBO transaction ideas for financial sponsor clients.

What you’ll need:

You should be working towards an MBA (probably class of 2009 or December 2008) with an emphasis on accounting, finance or economics. Demonstrated academic excellence is essential and you’ll bring exceptional intellect, strong reasoning abilities, solid quantitative skills and a high level of commercial awareness. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are also important.

In addition, we’ll be looking for a good working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint and Word along with the ability to conduct financial research.
