Equities & Derivatives Research

Researchers analyse and forecast market or economic trends, specialising in industries, regions or economies. Sales and Trading teams draw heavily on the impartial advice and guidance of researchers when developing strategies for clients and for our business.

A research role in equity derivatives can be a varied one that involves a range of responsibilities – from writing morning meeting notes, to identifying and assessing new investment ideas, through to producing data for use in internal and external research publications.

You'll also be involved in producing analysis and forecasts relevant to specific markets or economic trends, running ad hoc research projects, and presenting your findings to clients and colleagues. Strong excel skills are essential and modelling skills are preferable, as is good judgement and the ability to formulate convincing arguments.
