Traders generate revenues for the bank, trading a comprehensive range of asset classes on every index, every exchange and every market worldwide.

Working in the fast-paced environment of the trading floor, Traders are knowledgeable about their area of the markets and able to rapidly assess and evaluate risks and returns in order to identify opportunities and determine the best strategies and prices.

Joining us as a Trader, your role will involve working with Sales and Research teams to identify and promote market opportunities to clients; quantitative and qualitative analysis of trading strategies; helping senior traders to track their positions; and overseeing book positions and adjustments. As your experience grows you will soon be given the opportunity to learn how to trade yourself and to mange your own positions.

You’ll need to be highly numerate with a talent for modelling and programming. You’ll also need an analytical mind with strong problem-solving skills, great communication and team-working abilities. The trading floor can often be an exciting and high-pressure environment – the rapid unfolding of events and news mean that prices and strategies change fast so you’ll need the confidence to act decisively and the ability to remain calm and composed.
