Fixed Income Trading

Traders generate revenues for the bank. Working in the fast-paced environment of the trading floor, they know their markets and can weigh up risks and returns in an instant to identify opportunities and determine the best strategies and prices.

As a Trader, your role will involve, amongst other things: working with Sales and Research teams to identify and promote market opportunities to clients; quantitative and qualitative analysis of trading strategies; helping senior traders to track their positions; and overseeing book positions and adjustments.

Traders have to be highly numerate with an aptitude for modelling and programming. Equally important are an analytical mind, the confidence to act decisively, and the ability to stay calm and composed in what is often a high-pressure environment. Programming skills in C/C++ are important and a second language is advantageous.
