Please see an overview of our Development Programme below:
Dedicated Global Graduate Website
To encourage and support global connectivity across our graduate and intern population, we have a dedicated internal website. Once you have accepted our offer you will be given access to the site so that you can communicate with your future peers and colleagues at the Bank and begin building your network across BNP Paribas CIB.
In addition, the website provides a platform for all of your online and development programme resources.
Induction
The development programme begins with an intensive induction training lasting up to six weeks. The induction is delivered to small groups by leading external training professionals in three separate streams – Capital Markets & Derivatives, Financing Solutions & Advisory and Functions. In each stream it will give you the technical and financial foundation you need to join your team and take up your role. You’ll also benefit from presentations by key leaders from around our business, broadening your understanding of our activities and helping you to appreciate how different parts of our business interact.
Personal development and networking events
Continuing throughout the programme you will benefit from a wide range of personal development modules that have been designed in accordance with our graduate competency framework.
Whilst valuing technical skills, we recognise that developing your personal skills is also important. You will have the opportunity to develop self-awareness, confidence and the strong interpersonal skills required to deliver consistently strong performance in this demanding environment. Your training will include workshops, seminars and online learning modules.
You’ll also have the opportunity to participate in a series of cross-functional social and networking events. These will enable to you to further build your networks within the Bank and give you exposure to senior managers from around our diverse businesses.
Ongoing development
After joining your team and taking up your full-time role you will continue to access a wide range of development opportunities on the programme and benefit from on-the-job technical coaching. We are committed to early and rapid development and you will be given as much responsibility as we feel you can handle, and the opportunity to develop as fast as your ambitions allow. Alongside this informal training you will continue to benefit from specialised business-specific development delivered by our experts via internal seminars – including global seminars delivered by the CIB Academy.
In addition, some business areas have their own channels for enhancing your knowledge and sharing best practice, such as Fixed Income’s University – a regular business briefing forum hosted by senior managers and shared globally.
Development Centre
We view learning as an ongoing process – one that will continue well beyond your graduate programme. Our fully interactive Development Centre at the end of your programme will provide you with detailed feedback on your strengths and areas of development via a personal development plan that will support your career moving forwards. It will help you to place the right emphasis on key skills and behaviours as your career with BNP Paribas progresses.
Annual Global Graduate Conference
This two-day conference held at our Paris campus marks the end of the programme for the majority of the attendees. It features business-focused workshops, team activities and keynote speeches from senior managers from across the bank. The event will provide you with an opportunity to network on a global basis, enhance your relationships and communication across CIB, and help you prepare for your future career.
